When standard stainless steels (like 304) are heated between 400°C and 800°C, the carbon steals chromium from the grain boundaries, causing the steel to rust from the inside out. By alloying with Niobium (indicated by the 'Б' / 'B'), which has a much stronger affinity for carbon than chromium does, the carbon is safely bound as niobium carbides. This leaves the chromium fully available to maintain the steel's corrosion resistance, even during extreme heat cycling.
